*** 21.12.06 THE POGUES Christmas Party / The Radiators, Point, 8pm, 45.75e
Legendary rabble rousers The Pogues have confirmed a concert date this Christmas.
Formed in 1982, The Pogues scored a string of hit albums combining traditional Irish folk with a punk sprit, embodied by their notorious frontman Shane MacGowan.
MacGowan quit the group in 1991 and while the rest of the group carried on briefly, (with ex-Clash man Joe Strummer occasionally providing vocals) they eventually disbanded in 1995.
They reunited with MacGowan in 2001 for a UK tour and headlined the London Fleadh the following year.
The original line-up reformed in 2004 for an Irish and UK tour which culminated with a sell-out concert at the Point.

Does this mean Philip will have to do both sets? Or does he want me to cover for him on one? Preferably the first as my tolerance for alcohol aint what it used to be!

I am not overly familiar with the geography of Dublin, where exactly is Curfew? And who is buying the first round?

'Curfew' is Dublin slang for 'put on bullet proof vest', an essential accessory in the vicinity , of late, of The Point.
Good luck with the gig . I won't be there . I can't stand the venue and prefer to remember the Pogues of the 1980s as opposed to the cashcow/cabaret act that is touring now. Great as I know the 'Rads will be on the night they will be performing for, in the main, jabbering drunks who will be texting and/or loudly discussing childcare/mortgages.........and that would drive me mad!

These jabbering drunks who will be texting and/or loudly discussing childcare/mortgage during the Rad's set, are you referring to the Pogues? (Except Philip of Course)
Now where did I put that Radiators T Shirt?
